Congratulations to Ailbhe Cunningham,on winning the Irish Architecture Foundation photography competition. The winning image shows the Central Bank corner. A great image simply executed. Lisa Cassidy from www.builtdublin.ie and Paul O’Kane, Public Affairs Director and social media manager with Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) from the DAA and me were judges on the competition. The quality of the entries was incredible in both in the regular photography section but also in the instagram section. I still find it amazing the diversity of vision presented by the photographers. William Eggleston, Stephen Store, Julius Schulman , Martin Parr even the venerable Cartier Bresson were clearly an influence on the participants.
In the end the winner was choosen because the the striking simplicity of the image, there easily could have been 10 winners.
